Personalizing the Psalms

Here’s my modern take on Psalm 136. See if you have any to add.

No matter what house I have lived in, I always find one that is nicer.

But I have never found a God better than the One I serve.

No matter what car I own, I always see one that is cooler.

But I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter how much money I make, I realize I need more.

But I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter how many friends I have, I realize I still have need.

But I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter what I have done for a living, others have better jobs.

But I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter who I meet,

I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter where I go,

I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter what I do,

I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No matter how old I get,

I have never found a better God than the One I serve.

No truer words have been said. You can always find better ways to live, make money, things to make you happy. God is the one constant in my life that I can't do better.
