I have found that oftentimes:
The answers Satan offers are actually curses in disguise.
“It seemed so harmless at the time.”
“I just never thought that it could happen to me.”
“I believed I could stop any time.”
The problems we encounter are actually often God’s answers in disguise.
“Had that not happened, I wouldn’t be here today.”
“Just when I thought I was at the end of my rope, I realized the truth.”
“When that happened, it drove me to a new place of dependence on God.”
The bottom line is, in this life, watch out for the easy answers.
There’s a massive difference between easy and peace.
We want easy when we need peace.
We seek easy when we need to pursue peace.
Peace is not found in the absence of problems, but in the presence of God.
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. —Hebrews 12:11-13 NLT
