Wealth vs. Wisdom

What if you were offered the choice of wealth or wisdom? Which would you choose?

To define, for wealth, at the end of each month, how ever much you needed to pay the bills of however much you spent that month would be provided and all paid to zero.

For wisdom, any situation you encounter, you would know the right decision, the best option, to take. You always sense the right course of action for the setting.

There is a strong likelihood that the vast majority of us would choose wealth. But, to add insult to injury, the vast majority of us would focus the benefit of such wealth on ourselves. Sure, we’d give some away—enough to look and sound good—but the bulk would be used to meet far past our needs, mostly our wants.

Wisdom would certainly benefit each of us, in keeping us on the right track, but it would also be a blessing for all those around us. The people we love and those we encounter would gain from our wise decisions. In fact, it could be argued that someone with great wisdom can help others, even more than him or herself. After all, is wisdom truly wisdom unless it is shared?

So, for most of us, we will never experience the level of wealth to meet all of our many wants. But for any of us, the wisdom of God is available for any question we ask Him.

At the end of this very week, 99.9% of us will still owe money and still want something we wanted last week, and are still no closer to getting it.

But—who can benefit today, this week, from us hearing from God on the decisions and dilemmas that come our way?

Wealth will burn, but wisdom can change lives. Which one is made available to you today?
